AP People – Paula Dobriansky

The Honorable Paula Dobriansky joined the AP (US) board in August 2011.

Ambassador Dobriansky is the Distinguished National Security Chair at the U.S. Naval Academy and an Adjunct Senior Fellow at Harvard University’s JFK Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs.  Recently, she was Senior Vice President and Global Head of Government and Regulatory Affairs for two years at Thomson Reuters.  From 2001-2009, Ambassador Dobriansky served as Under Secretary of State for Democracy and Global Affairs, during which time she was appointed the President’s Special Envoy on Northern Ireland.  She received the Secretary of State’s Distinguished Service Medal for her work.  Other government appointments include:  Associate Director for Policy and Programs, USIA; Deputy Head, U.S. Delegation, 1990 Copenhagen Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe; and Director of European and Soviet Affairs at the National Security Council.  She also served as Senior Vice President and Director of the Washington Office of the Council on Foreign Relations and was the Council’s first George F. Kennan Senior Fellow for Russian and Eurasian Studies.

AP People – Carolyn Warren

Carolyn Warren joined the Atlantic Partnership in June 2011 as a Project Manager supporting the Young Leaders program, research, and events.

Before coming to the Atlantic Partnership, Carolyn interned with the Colorado Republican Party’s Victory Campaign. There, she recruited and trained volunteers, conducted surveys, and registered individuals to vote in an effort to coordinate a grass-roots movement to benefit Republican candidates in her state. She also interned with the Scott McInnis for Governor Campaign.

Carolyn has recently finished her studies at Johns Hopkins University and will attend the Bologna campus of the Johns Hopkins Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in Fall 2011. She speaks fluent French.

AP People – George Fulton

George Fulton joined AP in April 2011 having worked as a writer, journalist and broadcaster in Pakistan since 2002. He has worked both in front of and behind the camera and has produced several current affairs programmes including HARDtalk Pakistan and Question Time Pakistan for BBC World. He has helped interview some of the leading political and military players within Pakistan: including President Musharraf, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, General Hamid Gul and General Aslam Beg.

Prior to this, George worked as a campaign manager for a Conservative prospective parliamentary candidate in the 2001 General Election. He is married with a son.

AP People — Anneliese Guess

Anneliese Guess joined Atlantic Partnership (AP) in September 2010 as a Project Manager supporting research, database, events and outreach.

Before joining AP, Anneliese worked as a research assistant for Dr. Katrin Sieg and Dr. Holger Wolf at Georgetown University. As a research assistant Anneliese drafted summaries of publications and articles and worked with multimedia resources. She also spent time researching at the Library of Congress, and collected material for use in presentations and published works. Her previous work experience also includes event support at the German Historical Institute. At her undergraduate institution, Anneliese served as a Residence Hall Adviser for first year college students and as a supervisor of an academic advising center on campus.

Anneliese graduated from University of California, Davis in June 2009 with a double major in English and German and a minor in Global and International Studies. In September 2009, Anneliese began studying at Georgetown University in the School of Foreign Service’s German and European Studies Master’s Program (MAGES) and is pursuing a joint Ph.D. in German. Her concentration is European culture and she is currently writing her Master’s thesis on European Identity and the EU. Anneliese speaks German and basic French and Spanish.

AP People — Regina Hubard

Regina Hubard joined the Atlantic Partnership (AP) in November 2012 as a Project Manager.

Regina Hubard is a Master of International Affairs candidate at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs with a concentration in International Security Policy. Prior to the Atlantic Parntership, Regina spent three years in the private sector at a New York financial technology firm and two years with Teach for America. She holds both a Master’s in Secondary Education from American University and a Bachelor of Arts in French with a concentration in International Relations from Davidson College.

AP Panelist – Miklos ‘Mik’ Bodnar

Miklos ‘Mik’ Bodnar is a graduate student at the Maxwell School of Syracuse University, pursuing an M.A. in International Relations, with concentrations in Security and Foreign Policy Studies with a European focus, with a specific focus on NATO security issues.  He is currently pursuing a six month internship with the NATO Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium, working in the Operations Division and Crisis Management Policy Section.  Miklos graduated from the University of Mary Washington (UMW) with a degree in International Affairs and Geography, which included a UMW European Capitals study abroad program.

AP People:
Garrett Workman

WorkmanGarrett Workman joined AP in October 2009 as a Project Manager responsible for supporting congressional, State department and DoD outreach. A native of Phoenix, Arizona, Garrett has served as an Intern in the Arizona State House of Representatives Appropriations Committee charged with crafting and summarizing budget legislation. In addition to corresponding with constituents, he also helped draft new Arizona laws on border security, educational reform, and highway safety.

Garrett recently completed his Master’s in Transatlantic Relations in an exchange organized through both the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and l’Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po-Paris). His studies culminated with a thesis analyzing the transatlantic economic partnership and the impact of the financial crisis on transatlantic trade. Garrett graduated from the University of Arizona summa cum laude with a degree in Political Science and European Studies. He completed part of his undergraduate program studying at the Université Catholique de l’Ouest in Angers, France.

AP People – Ryan Carroll

Ryan Carroll joined Atlantic Partnership (AP) in September 2009, and is responsible for congressional and think tank outreach, and AP’s global and young leaders programs.

As an undergraduate at the University of Chicago (International Studies and German Major), Ryan studied at the Freie Universität in Berlin, where he interned for the European Director of the Massachusetts Office of International Trade and Investment (MOITI). Ryan further forged his interest in transatlantic affairs while working for the Mentor Group in Boston, which convenes the “Forum for EU-US Legal Economic Affairs,” uniting senior judicial, corporate and regulatory leaders in the US and EU jurisdictions.

Ryan is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in German and European Studies from the BMW Center for German and European Studies at the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service. He is crafting his major in International Business Diplomacy and the European Political Economy.

AP Panelists – Rebecca Lindgren

Rebecca Lindgren worked as a Project Manager for the Atlantic Partnership (AP) between October 2009 and September 2010.  She was responsible for research assistance, think tank outreach and maintaining the news portion of the AP website.  Prior to joining AP, Rebecca was a research intern for the foreign policy department of the Cato Institute.

Rebecca graduated from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service in December 2010.  She has a B.S. in International Politics, with a concentration in Security Studies.
